Outdoor Aqua Zumba

Description: Come out and join us for some splashing fun that's a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise class that blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance.  It's one pool party you don't want to miss!  there is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba class so you really let loose.  Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles. 

When: Saturdays, 11am-12pm
Dates: July 1, 8, and 15 (no class July 22 or 29)
           August 5, 12, 19, and 25

Paint in the Parks

Come out in support of Friends of SROSRC be painting in parks.  Participants will be provided with light refreshments, a canvas, paint, an apron, and paint brushes during the event.  Afterward, participants will take their painting home to enjoy.  This event series will benefit the Friends of SROSRC, which supports the events and programs SROSRC provides.

Parents bring your child(ren) out and work on this Magic in the Park painting together.  Perfect for families, we will provide kid friendly drinks and snacks. 
Date and Time:  Saturday, July 15th, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Location: Bryant Park (rain location: Day Street Community Center)
Fee: $35 (per canvas 1 parent & 1 child)

Description: Come out for this NEW fall edition of Paint in the Parks.  Paint a Hallows Eve scene on a unique wooden pallet to give it that extra authentic look.  Enjoy fall snacks and drinks as you bring this scene to life.  *NO ALCOHOL

Fire Mountain Taekwondo Academy has been offering quality, affordable martial arts training for children and adults since February 1997. *This is a monthly, year-round program, which meets twice per week.* Taekwondo is a Korean martial arts system of unarmed combat. A student will develop body, mind, and spirit as a result of the training journey from beginner white belt to the advanced black belt. Classes consist of warm-up exercises to develop cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Curriculum involves learning martial arts techniques: blocks, strikes, kicks, forms, sparring, rolling and falling, weapons and breathing exercises.

Dates & Times: This is a monthly year-round program, which meets twice per week: 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays and 6:30-7:30p.m. Fridays
Fee: $50/monthly
Ages: 1st grade +

Self Defense for Women July 11

The success of our seasonal offering has motivated the creation of an open club that will meet on a monthly basis.  Participants will be introduced to self-defense techniques in a safe, community environment.  Monthly topics will focus on responses to specific threating situations.  No experience necessary and open to join at any time.  Pre-registration preferred but walk-ins will be accepted.
