Paint in the Parks

Come out in support of Friends of SROSRC be painting in parks.  Participants will be provided with light refreshments, a canvas, paint, an apron, and paint brushes during the event.  Afterward, participants will take their painting home to enjoy.  This event series will benefit the Friends of SROSRC, which supports the events and programs SROSRC provides.

Description: Come out for this NEW fall edition of Paint in the Parks.  Paint a Hallows Eve scene on a unique wooden pallet to give it that extra authentic look.  Enjoy fall snacks and drinks as you bring this scene to life.  *NO ALCOHOL

Karate/Taekwondo

Fire Mountain Taekwondo Academy has been offering quality, affordable martial arts training for children and adults since February 1997. *This is a monthly, year-round program, which meets twice per week.* Taekwondo is a Korean martial arts system of unarmed combat. A student will develop body, mind, and spirit as a result of the training journey from beginner white belt to the advanced black belt. Classes consist of warm-up exercises to develop cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Curriculum involves learning martial arts techniques: blocks, strikes, kicks, forms, sparring, rolling and falling, weapons and breathing exercises.

Dates & Times: This is a monthly year-round program, which meets twice per week: 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays and 6:30-7:30p.m. Fridays

Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WRFA) instruction provides an American Red Cross Certification in the first aid principles and skills to respond to emergencies and to give care in areas without immediate emergency medical services (EMS). This includes wilderness and remote environments, as well as urban environments experiencing natural or man-made disasters. WRFA is a dynamic, hands-on, skills-based course that uses a mix of classroom instruction and realistic outdoor teaching scenarios to give you the knowledge, skills, and ability to make sound decisions and deal with common medical incidents and accidents in the backcountry. Penn Trails instructors have a unique mix of both professional certifications and real-world experience in remote and wilderness environments.

Prerequisites: Possess current Adult CPR/AED certification and be at least 16 years of age on or before the last scheduled course session
Cost: $200.00 per person; includes all materials
When: Oct. 28 and 29, 2017 8am-5pm
